Mele has been making jewelry boxes
since 1912.
Mele Companies, Inc. was founded by Emidio Mele
in New York City Emidio Mele was a designer and
builder of elegant displays for jewelry store windows.
He branched out and began creating gift boxes for
watches, pendants and other jewelry items. Jewelry
boxes followed, and Mrs. Mele joined the enterprise.
As the customer base grew, so did the employees
and the facilities. In 1956 Mele Manufacturing
moved to upstate New York into a 450,000 ft. complex. Shop
